ZWS Series FAQ

1. Question: Why has the connector color changed on the ZWS5, 10 & 15?

Answer:

The lower power ZWS series of power supplies utilize Molex 0.1" pitch KK connectors for the input and output terminals. Lambda Model numbers: ZWS5xx, ZWS10xx, ZWS15xx.

Molex has notified Lambda that a change has been implemented to make the connector material more environmentally friendly. They assure their customers that a thorough evaluation has been conducted prior to making the change.

As a result of that material change, the color of the connector will change from a "brick red" to a natural shade of white.

We should see a gradual phasing in of the new Molex connectors starting in April. There is no mechanical or electrical change to the connector. New and old ZWS units will be fully interchangeable. Please contact technical support if you have any questions. 1-800-LAMBDA 4.
