SAN DIEGO, CA (April 23, 2007) - Lambda launches a new series of 450 Watt pcb-mount DC-DC modules primarily designed for use in next generation RF Power Amplifiers that are employed in a wide range of wireless base stations, cell repeaters, and mobile communications systems.

DC-DC converters that power base stations, repeaters, and mobile communication RF amplifiers have to meet many challenges including: extreme ambient temperature swings, compact size, low heat dissipation, and must have a wide output adjustment range to allow the user to optimize the amplifier's performance.

Lambda's new PAH450S series of DC-DC converters have been purposely designed to meet these demands. Packaged in the industry standard half-brick, they deliver 450W at efficiencies up to 92% and operate from a wide input voltage range of 36 to 76VDC.

Available with a nominal 28V output (adjustable from 16.8V to 33V) or a nominal 48V output (adjustable from 28.8V to 57.6V), these converters will operate at full power with a baseplate temperature ranging from -40°C to +100°C. The converters feature threaded inserts to allow cooling via a cold plate or standard heat sinks.

The PAH450S series has a standard half brick footprint of 2.4 x 2.28 x 0.5 inches (LxWxH), are approved to UL/CSA/EN60950-1, and carry the CE mark.
