Lambda 1000W Modular Power Supply Receives Medical Safety Approvals
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 28, 2005) - Lambda announced it has received UL60601-1 and
IEC/EN60601-1 medical safety agency approvals on its Alpha 1000 series of power supplies,
which are suitable for use in a broad variety of medical applications demanding the flexibility of
a modular product.
Alpha 1000 units are fully configurable and can provide between one and 14 adjustable
outputs. Up to seven modules single or dual outputs can be fitted with output voltages from
1.8V to 48V and output currents of up to 120 amps; no minimum loads are required. Inhibit, ACfail,
current-share and DC-good signals are available as options.
The Alpha 1000 can deliver up to 1000 watts from 20°C to +50°C and derates at 3.3% of
a degree from 50°C to 65°C. All models accept a wide range of input voltages from 85VAC to
264VAC and contain active PFC (power factor correction) circuitry to meet EN61000-3-2
standards.
The power supplies also meet EN55022 Level A specifications, achieved with a 212-
microamp earth-leakage filter; in addition, lower-leakage filters down to 50 microamps are
available. The series is also CE marked and approved to UL60950, CSA60950 and EN60950
standards.
The fan-cooled units measure a compact 2.5 x 7 x 11 inches and have a combination of
screw or fast-on terminals for quick and easy installation.
Alpha 1000 modular power supplies are priced starting at $850 each in 10-unit quantities.
