Lambda Adds 600W Full-Brick Converters with 300VDC Nominal Input
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 22, 2005) - Lambda has introduced the PAF600F280 series, a
high-efficiency family of 600-watt full-brick DC-DC converters with a nominal input of 300
volts DC. The new converters are ideal for systems using distributed high-voltage DC power
architecture and for engineers designing custom off-line power supplies.

The PAF600F280 series is rated up to 50 amps and is available with 12-, 24-, 28- and 48-
volt outputs – with efficiencies as high as 91%. Each model can be adjusted between -40% to
+20% of nominal output, avoiding the need for modified standard models. The DC input range
is a wide 200 to 400 volts, typically provided by rectified AC or high-voltage front-end modules.
Units measure a compact 2.4 x 4.6 x 0.5 inches, are rated for operation from -40°C to
+100°C, and can be cooled by either convection or forced air. In addition, the converters are CE
marked and safety approved to UL60950, CSA60950 and EN60950 specifications.
Features include over-current and over-voltage protection, remote sensing, output
adjustment trim, remote on/off, current-sharing capability, a converter-good signal, and auxiliary
voltage for house keeping functions.
The PAF600F280 series is available now, with prices starting at $172 each in 100-unit
quantities. More information can be obtained at Lambda’s Web site, www.lambdapower.com.
