Lambda extends DIN Rail Power Family, Announces Lead Free Manufacture and SEMI F47 Compliance
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 3, 2003 ) - Lambda extends the DLP series of DIN rail mount power supplies with
the addition of a 180W model. This model and the entire DLP series are now manufactured "lead-free" to
satisfy emerging legislation. A SEMI F47 compliance certificate has also been granted for this and the
240W model.
The new 180W model is rated at 24V 7.5A, offering a smaller lower cost alternative to the more powerful
240W 10A models currently on the market. Maximum efficiency is 87% and power density is an impressive
0.21W/cm3. All the DLP series share a common height and depth of 3.8 x 4.3".
DIN rail is becoming the preferred choice of mounting in many applications. Once considered only for
industrial applications, the DIN rail power supply is finding other applications. "As the popularity
increases so do the environmental demands on the product," commented David Norton, Director of
Marketing for Lambda Americas. "Many of our customers have requested lead-free manufacturing to
meet their own internal goals."
The 180W and 240W models feature wide range power factor corrected input enabling the units to operate
from 85 to 265VAC. This feature allows the products to meet SEMI F47 input voltage sag immunity
standards.
The DLP series has over current and over voltage protection and include a red alarm LED indicator
to warn if the output has fallen below 20V. All models comply with a wide range of worldwide safety
standards including UL, CSA and TUV. The products have a CE mark in accordance with the Low Voltage
Directive.
Conservative derating characteristics ensure the internal components operate at a reduced thermal
stress, a key feature for long reliable operation.
The DLP180 is available now, starting at $122 for single piece quantities.
